• I hand build using two main techniques ‘Slab’ and ‘Coil’. With the coil method I work hard at all times to keep the profile correct and the wall thickness even (this save time in the later stages). Once the coiling is complete my smoothing technique is applied. First scrapping the surface with a course toothed tool taking out any coil ridges, followed with a smoothing operation with a stiff edged tool. This sequence is repeated using finer and smoother tools until the desired surface is achieved.
